(3-27-2019) Lennon Insurance teamed up with the Arbella Insurance Foundation’s “Let’s Drive Out Hunger” campaign to help support The Woburn Council of Social Concern’s Food Pantry. Last year, the “Let’s Drive Out Hunger” campaign reached an incredible milestone. Arbella Insurance Group agents, together with the Arbella Insurance Foundation, exceeded a 10-year, $1 million goal of giving to local food pantries and programs across Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. Peter J. Lennon, President and Founder of Lennon Insurance, has teamed up with the Arbella Foundation every year to make donations to The Woburn Council of Social Concern.
The Woburn Council of Social Concern is a charitable, community-based agency responding to the basic needs of people of all ages. The organization provides early childhood education and care, helps individuals develop their potential, creates positive family and community relationships, and fosters respect for diversity. Their programs provide hope, help, and support to those most in need in the community. (1-7-2016) Arbella’s partnerships with local agencies was featured in the Winter 2015 Vol. 21 No.2 Impact Newsletter which is published by the Insurance Information Institute of New York. Robert P. Hartwig, Ph.D., CPCU, President of the Insurance Information Institute, stated “We are not surprised that a recent survey by McKinsey & Company found that American property/casualty insurers have increased their charitable giving by an average of 15 percent since 2011. Here at Impact, we are proud to help tell our industry’s story.”
In the article “Teaming With Agents to Combat Hunger”, the Arbella Insurance Group is recognized for their commitment to growing charitable programs in partnership with its independent agents. These local agents have been particularly successful helping the Foundation’s “Let’s Drive Out Hunger“ program, launched in 2008 to combat food insecurity. Through “Let’s Drive Out Hunger”, Arbella’s independent agents raise funds in support of nonprofits of their choosing, and know that their contributions will truly make a difference right in their own communities. “It’s incredibly rewarding to partner with Arbella’s Foundation to help our neighbors keep food on the table,” said Peter Lennon, founder of Lennon Insurance Agency. “It enables us to make a big difference in our own backyard.”
Since its launch, the Arbella Insurance Foundation and these independent agents have contributed more than $630,000 to more than 400 emergency food programs, soup kitchens, food pantries and homeless shelters throughout New England. Partnering with local independent insurance agents has allowed the Foundation to distribute its funds more locally and directly to those in need. Through efforts like Project Bread’s Walk for Hunger and the Foundation’s “Let’s Drive Out Hunger” program, Arbella and its Foundation demonstrates the true nature of giving back.

(3-1-2015) Lennon Insurance teamed up with Arbella Insurance Foundation to make a $1,000 donation to The Dwelling Place in support of Arbella Insurance Foundation’s “Drive Out Hunger” campaign. The Dwelling Place is a soup kitchen in Woburn center that is operated in the United Methodist Church. Since 1987, The Dwelling Place has served over 85,000 meals to individuals and families in need. Peter J. Lennon, President and Founder of Lennon Insurance, presented a check to coordinator Jennifer Sullivan to help The Dwelling Place in its quest to “Drive Out Hunger”.
The Dwelling Place, run by volunteers, serves free hot meals, year-round every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 5:45pm (please enter through the side door on Harlow Court off Main Street).
